TILING MURRUMBEENA — SITE POLICY

What this site holds when you send an enquiry

An enquiry about a leaking shower or a bathroom strip-out is a short, practical message. This page sets out what that message contains, what it is used for, where it sits afterwards and how to have it removed — in the same plain terms the rest of the site is written in.

Everything below applies to this website only. To reach us about anything on this page, use the contact form.

THE POLICY IN ONE LINE

The argument the rest of this site makes about tiling holds here too: what matters is usually the layer you don’t see. A policy is the same — short on surface, specific underneath.

What the form receives is what you typed; it is used to answer you; it stays inside this website’s own installation; and it goes when you ask for it.

NOTHING IS ASKED FOR THAT ISN’T NEEDED TO REPLY

The information this site receives

An enquiry sent through this website arrives as a message containing exactly what you typed into it: your name, the contact details you want a reply sent to, where the work is, what kind of work it involves, and whatever description of the job you decide to include. If you attach a note about a shower that has been leaking for months, that note is held with the rest of it.

Everything held comes from that form: the details you type are the details kept. Nothing is gathered about you from other sources, and no profile is built from your visit to the site.

Like any web server, this site records ordinary technical requests — the page asked for and the time it was asked for. That is a function of hosting, not a record kept about you, and it isn’t matched to enquiries. The form itself lives on Request a Quote and Contact.

02 / 06

Why it is asked for

A tiling job can’t be understood from a name alone. The suburb tells us whether it sits inside the area we cover, the service tells us whether it is a membrane question or a grout one, and the description usually decides whether the answer is a site visit or a straight reply.

03 / 06

What it is used for

Answering your enquiry, discussing the work, and quoting it if it goes that far. Enquiries are not added to a mailing list, not passed to other trades to chase, not used for advertising and not sold. There is no payment processing on this website, so no card or banking information is ever entered here.

04 / 06

Where it is kept

Messages sent through the form are stored privately inside this website’s own installation, on the hosting that serves the pages, and are readable by the people who maintain the site and reply to enquiries. They are not copied out to a separate mailing tool or customer database.

05 / 06

Cookies, and what happens when a link leaves this site

The site is built to load quickly and then leave you alone. There are no pop-ups, no interruption overlays and no chat widget starting a conversation on your behalf. Cookies are limited to the ordinary ones a WordPress site sets to serve pages correctly and keep an enquiry form working while you fill it in.

Your browser can block or clear them at any time. The pages will still read normally; at most, a part-completed form may need retyping.

OUTSIDE THIS SITE

Some pages point outward — to a tile manufacturer, a product data sheet, a map. Following one of those links takes you onto a site run by someone else, with its own handling of your information. Nothing written here governs what happens once you arrive there.

The commercial side of using this site — quoting, scheduling and the work itself — is covered separately in the Terms & Conditions.

06 / 06

Access, correction, removal and how long anything is kept

An enquiry record is kept while it is still doing something useful — a quote under discussion, a job being scheduled, a repair that may need following up on. When it stops being useful, it goes. If you would rather it went sooner, say so and it will be removed from the site’s own records.

A   Ask what has been kept from your enquiry

B   Ask for a detail to be corrected

C   Ask for the record to be deleted

D   Ask us not to follow up again

Any of the four can be requested through the contact form — tell us enough to find the original message and the rest is straightforward.

IF THIS POLICY CHANGES

The version published on this page is the one that applies. If the way the site handles enquiries changes, the wording here changes with it rather than sitting out of date alongside it.

QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS PAGE
